What I'm up to at the moment

  1. I live in Germany now. In Feb 2024, I moved to Germany.

  2. I'm currently completing my Masters in Translational Neuroscience at Heinrich Heine Universität Düsseldorf.

  3. I completed my Bachelor of Science (Honours) at The University of Sydney. In November 2023, I received a First Class for my Honours thesis in Neuroscience, where I investigated the neural mechanisms underlying placebo analgesia (ie. fake pain-relief). In my undergrad I double majored in Medical Science and Neuroscience.

  4. I was a GAMSAT Section 2 tutor from 2021-2023, where I helped aspiring Medicine students write great essays for Section 2 of the GAMSAT. After I scored 80 in S2 in my first sitting, I wanted to help other students do the same so they can achieve their goal of getting into Med/Dentistry in Australia / the U.K. / Ireland. As part of this, I created YouTube videos,  an online course, wrote an email newsletter, marked essays, and provided online tutoring services. I'm no longer pursuing Medicine myself, but I'm very proud of how the resources I created still help fellow students pursuing their goal of becoming a doctor.

Other Stuff

  • I'm an ex elite athlete, having played basketball at a semi-professional level in Australia.

  • I previously studied a Bachelor of Communications (Media Arts & Production) / Bachelor of Arts in International Studies (German) before I switched to science. So I've also had some formal education in  video & sound production, editing, and writing.

  • I used to teach Histology at USYD. In my Honours year, I demo'd for the first year Med and third year undergrad Histology classes. 

  • I speak German and am currently working part-time as a barista in Cologne to connect with community and improve my language skills.
